The 2015 fight against mosquitoes is already starting around the country. The cold temperatures do not effect mosquito populations and many mosquito species’s larvae are able to remain dormant for over 10 years. All it takes is 50 degree temperatures and a little water to start an explosion in the local mosquito population. Municipalities in Minnesota are taking a proactive approach and are starting to treat for mosquitoes now so that the larvae are not able to develop into adult mosquitoes.
